'totem'

i dreamt of black n white
      rainbows
cycle over dry
   meadows
that hung perpetually
 south
from the roofs of
  vestibules
that rested without pillars
on my vacuous
     conscience
i have dreamed being awake
but not waking up
i have dreamed  falling
from innocence
but not how i got  there

i now wonder where do objectives
come from
and just how many
              elevators
run in this space

maybe the awakening still awaits
the right elevator
a dream half remembered
or
half forgotten

  1. Hi

Thought I'd stop over and say hello. Thanks for introducing yourself on my blog the other day. I'm always happy to make new friends in the blogosphere. I like the concept for your two blogs (lovely photography on the other one!).

This poem is very beautiful, contemplative and dark and light all at once. So many striking images of climbing and falling, of almost defeat and snatching another chance...

Be well. I'll check back again soon...

  4. teacher,
this piece was inspired by the hollywood movie showcased in the picture..it had just hit theatres...

the motion picture element aside the movie brings to fore a very interesting concept that we humans actually share a dream space.....i do not remember the name of who incepted this theory.....but do read it....i'm sure you'll be
as intrigued as i was and have been since....

  5. well manik... no matter what inspires a soul, if s/he is creative enough s/he can give birth to a new thing...
this poem sounds beautiful and creative to me...
thanks for giving the information for the background... i googled it and read about the film a bit... seems very interesting... especially because it's about dreams...
the way they use dreams of course is so horrifying... but not something new...

in a way they are implanting ideas in our dreams these days... through media... people are not thinking or dreaming by their own... no?

also this reminded me of 'the BFG' a children's story by Roald Dahl in which a friendly giant blows dreams into children's minds... and with the help of a little girl he implants some ideas into the queen's mind through a nightmare... so that she can believe them and help them fight with the bad giants...
    :)
well i read my daughter's books and enjoy them a lot! better than trillers... no?
    ;)
dreams are very important... i started my journey into my soul with them...

and nowadays i dream mostly collectively...
    :)

thanks for teaching me something new...

and manik... if you talk to your dreams, they talk back to you... and in this way no one can steal them from you...

    g'night
