It is midnight in gandhi's mind,
Its not time yet,to pick garbage off the street
so we sleep on it,and die too
There will be opportunities
to cut yourself from the knees
and demand sympathy from those who will walk,
walk into the barrel of a misfired gun
walk through a kingdom spitting fire
and collapsing on its mothers and fathers,
But there will not be the calling for a resurrection
if death won't be felt,now
Its not time yet,to pick garbage off the street
so we sleep on it,and die too
There will be opportunities
to cut yourself from the knees
and demand sympathy from those who will walk,
walk into the barrel of a misfired gun
walk through a kingdom spitting fire
and collapsing on its mothers and fathers,
But there will not be the calling for a resurrection
if death won't be felt,now
Great writing.

ReplyDeleteCut yourself from the knees and demand sympathy...
ReplyDeleteHell of a powerful line of thinking here. Oh yes, there is ample opportunity. Am I the only one who feels it? (of course you) Is it so rare to acknowledge that we do not move so blithely through life, but rather there are amputations and tourniquets and between those two love burns with the accelerant of our need? I feel death so acutely...I should say I sense that it hovers in a devouring kind of way. I pray God, that feeling this as I do, revival is close at hand.
I second Annie, hail Manik.. some thot i'd say

ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comments
Annie,
revival is always close at hand...a hand banished to the coffins of our prayers and what good has never come off them...
Neha,
We all do..thank you
